I SHALL NOT BUY A MASSAGE CHAIR BEFORE TESTING IT.

Didn’t you think that already, many times before? When one buys a car, most people have a car dealer nearby, where one can choose out of thousands of vehicles. Before buying our car, we usually ask our friends and family, or we ask dealers for information about one or two vehicles, so that we can make up our mind. Most people only decide to purchase after a test run. Think about your last car acquisition. Have you tried out all options, or have you made a decision before visiting your dealer for a test ride? Just as most of us know, your inquiries shall trigger the test ride which is the reason why we do not test a larger number of vehicles. The test ride does not sort out the options, it is the decision for buying the car!

TESTING THE MASSAGE CHAIR

Probably, you have noticed that there are only a few possibilities to test a massage chair for comparison, and sometimes this is not possible at all. It is very likely that the single option you have – which is restricted to a handful of select city dwellers – is to go to your local shop and test your massage chair there.

SO WHAT DO YOU DO?

If you have already tested a massage chair at a local shop, then your search has probably finished; all that you can do is go to the next shop and test the chair there. But what happens if you go online and find another massage chair, such as an Inada, Osaki or Casada Massage chair model? This chair is likely not available in your neighbourhood. At this point, think about how you purchased your car and follow the same logic … Ask for detailed information about everything you need to know.

STEP 1: BROWSE THE WEBSITES FOR YOUR FAVOURITE MASSAGE CHAIR

Look at the features of your favourite chairs, filter them and see what is most important to you. Compare the designs according to your needs and select these. Ask information on the company for each brand. What is their philosophy regarding customer service? How do they present their chair and its different functions? Do they have resources that help you decide? Explore their blogs, FAQs and “About Us”.

STEP 2: COMPARE THE COMPANY’S GUARANTEES AND LIABILITIES

A guarantee is essentially based on a quick test for product quality. It might be even more important to you to know the terms and conditions for the support service, in case your chair becomes defective in the next 1-5 years. Massage chairs are mechanical pack animals and parts may break after a certain period of time. Your logic and your instinct shall decide for the right chair, even if you are not able to test several models.

STEP 3: CONTACT YOUR MASSAGE CHAIR SHOP

Once you have found your chair and the perfect match, do not only rely on the websites. Get a feeling for the company. The company behind the chair is as important as the chair itself.

You might have tried these steps and you still think: „Thank your for your advice, but I shall only buy upon testing.“

Now, have you tried out your house or flat, before you moved in? … You have seen it and you have made inquiries.
Were you able to test your television set in your living room, before you bought it? … You have made inquiries beforehand.
You did not buy your car on the unique basis of a test ride … You have made inquiries beforehand.

Do your research. Seldom, the clever buyer makes a wrong choice and the chances are very good that you find the perfect massage chair, without being able to test it.
Still, if you really wish to test the massage chair, you must be prepared to travel longer distances. Special models are offered for direct testing at the manufacturer plant. Some manufacturers have a unique “fly & buy” programme available, helping you to reduce your travel expenses. In some cases, they cover 100% of the costs. If you still desire to buy a massage chair at your local shop, it may even happen that you pay a higher price for the chair there. Or the models for selection are very few, and do not always satisfy your needs.
